Dear Friends
Thank you somuch for your valuable replies. I informed to the person to submit the document on or before 3rd of July 2010. The reason still he not submit his certificates is, as his director busy with his projects he cannot able to provide it at the time of relieving still they are extending the documents.

You can try issuing a warning to the person and if that does not work, you can issue a show-cause notice. Be careful not to involve yourself too much - let HR do the job of informing him of his responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.

Hi Earlystar,
I guess you have tried to reach his Boss directly but i wud suggest you to call on the board line number of his employer and inquire about his Boss whether he is on tour or not bcz as we all know the numbers which employee give to their new employee as reference can be false or as you have mentioned that his Boss number is not exist i may be right. So just call them on the board line and inquire from the HR directly about this employee and also you can know more about his candidature in his past employment. This will give you clear understanding about this employee...
I dont think this will be right to give warning to the employee bcz he may be right that his boss is on tour..of if you are not the HR person in the current organization, then im agree with A123874, you should not take it on your own and let HR people do their work. This is in the HR procedure/work to inquire about the past employment of any candidate or they can only ask for this Reliving Certificate.....

Hello,
Be possitive. We have jumped to conclusion that he is fraud thats why HR people are not respected.
First of all you get an undertaking from him that his previous employer has retained original certificates. Other than educational certifcates he must be having releving letter or full and final settelment statment, experience certificate etc. check with his prvious employer ( he may not give true information, it is your capability to judge whether it is right or wrong). You can verify his credentials in many ways.
In undertaking mention that if he does not submit the certificate within specific time than his training period will be terminated and full training cost from the date of joining including stipend paid will be recovered from him.
If does not give undertaking then look for replacement silently and this would mean it was a wrong selection at first place.

  • Two months is more than enough period to submit documents on joining and there is no need to give more time. Trainee needs to be terminated since he is not able to give proof of his qualification and experience, mentioned by him in his job application
MD not available, he is out of station, busy with project and all appears to be lies. Why MD will be involved in a such a trivial matters. If we assume that, it is a small set up and MD is involved, then also to decide whether to part with documents or not should not take such a long time. I feel Trainee is taking present employer for ride and he should be shown the door.
There is lapse on part of employer, he should not allow new employee to join, unless he submitts all necessary documents.

No Problem, you can ask the employee to give a date(Dead line) by when he can submit, then wait till that time, if he delays further tell him his salary will be on hold until he submits and hold his salary. But before taking any action inform your immediate boss and take his concern.
Thanks
Lakshmi
