Use of ID cards increases company’s value also. I can say its value addition on part of company. It indirectly does company’s publicity.

Our company have thousand employees all over India and we all top level staff wearing tie,we have dress code for middle & lower level staff and miniskirt & objectionable dresses restricted.

I would go with Arundhati. I had the same problem and now i linked everything with this Card. We have inhouse developed an ERP system and if anybody would like to get anything from stores (Office Stationary, Personal Protective Eqpmnts etc) they have to show this card to a device where the digital signature is stored, they do not have to sign a good receipt note. Whenever an employee is assigned with the job, this is linked with job number, attendance, overtime ...................... everythhing.

its the iudentity which u giving ur employee to make distictions from vistors.u can make certain adjustments as that employees attendence should be made mendatory while they wear id cards.id having the personal info of employee over it.u can contact immediately to their kins incase of emergency.without wastage of time while searching in data base.in my orgation i ve made employees to use wera card during work hours.if some one is not obeying u can warn and repeatedly bydoing so u can charge fine.but after making circular twice or thrice they will b use to.ahich i did in my organization.

I agree with the idea of merging Identity card and attendance card. It has worked out well in our organisation.
Now many types of ID cum Attendance cards are available in the market - most thin type cards - easy to carry and purpose solving.

some of the comments r good, v realistic, i just want to say that the place i work for we hav been using time attendence or auto mated attendence sytem for last 9+ years and we all get our pay slip from this system, when we come to/go - work we punch (proximity) in our card. so even we are late it is auto record at punch in or when we go early, also when we do not punch in we register as absent, there our pay slip come accordingly for all employees from top to down one system and must be started with official memo. The main thing is if u get your pay check less than you are suppose to get then it will give u shake to do what the right thing and everything comes to in its place.... try it, it worked for us.... once again we are using it for 9 years +

In this regard my view is - Please make a code of conduct, in which you can add as ID card is compulsory in the office premises. I personally feel that ID card is must in organization.

use of id cards in organization shows that yours in an modern org.
Employees shoud be awared the importance,if still employees are not complaying the rule.......simple deduct some amount from salary.
Every thing will fall in place.
This is what one org did in hyderabad,now every member wears id card.

Issuaance of ID Card is mandatory under The Gujarat Factories Rules para/Form 110. Advantage of ID card c is enumerated below:
1. It give individual identity,
2. It is usefull in case of emergency- accidents
3. It contain Blood group of individual Holder- is usefull to accidentee, accidentor and general public if they want to extend help if required
4. ID card regulate discipline in the organisation
5. It gives feeling of WE, belongigness to particular group
6. It will be easier for Guest/Stranger in your organisation to call you Mr. X instead of Hey
7. It contain your contact number and address
8. Usage of LAN card for instant visibility of ID card on chest or as may be defined.
9.If it is ID cum Attendance Card it would be easier for Security and Cafeteria to allow you to enter without any Hitch.
