The syllabus will be frm ur MBA Curriculum only. May be possible tat ur insitute curriculam will be different.
Regarding your question for opting code17 or code 55,its ur decision on how you want to see yourself 3-5 yrs frm now. to be a lecturer in HR,you should opt for Code 55.
Code 17 will be more valuable if your are expert in ore or more specialization. Because there are lectures who handles two elective papers.
It will not be so difficult to clear, because in UGC Net Exam you need to concentrate on paper 2 & paper 3 ie. on your elective subject.
According to me, right time to go for this exam is during your 2 year of MBA. It will be very easy to clear so easily.
