Hi Kavitha,Firstly let me know your profile as you have mention that you having 7 yrs of experience then you must be good in some HR activites .If you think you are good in recruitment and all other general HR activites then go for AIMA beacuse there you 'll know about International HRM , Managing Changes through Organisational Development but if you thing you need to expand your knowledge on more on Generalist part then you can opt for Diploma but you have to check from where you are doing this course.RegardsSaloni

Hi guys,
I am in recruitment for the past 3+ years. I started my career in US recruitment(i.e US H1-B placement). Then now on Jan 08 i got a job for internal requirement as well as i did H1-B visa processing also. All these exp are in IT domain.
Now , i am planning to move my career in HR(domestic/internal). So, please suggest some good universities to do an MBA and what combination of MBA course i have to take.
I prefer to do through distance education and i am settled in chennai.

Hi Kavita,
I think the AIMA one sounds fine for your experience scale.
Because after 7 yrs experience an overview is all you require as you would have practically dealt most of the aspects in the Second prog based on policies.
Can you please let me know the details of AIMA certification.

Dear Ms. Kavitha,
It would be a great value add if you do a certification on PHR / SPHR. As these are internationally acclaimed courses , it would not only give you an insight into international practices, but would also make you preferred choice of the employers.
You would agree with me that HR is not getting recognised as a very important function of business. You may go through the url to find more about this course.
HRCI - PHR-SPHR-GPHR Certification
Incase you wish to do a certification course which is not very expensive, you may also look at executive MBA programs as well.
Regards,
Arun

Hi kavitha,
From your choice of courses, the AIMA courses seems to be more of a theoritical part with the requirements of a middle level manager, and the courses of the HRD centre seems to be a specialisation in each of the given topics which will be required in the less than middle level manager or a special requirment in that specific field as the case may be.
so i would suggest u decide based on ur requirement of u being a part of middle level management or require specialised training in the different listed topics to move up in your career.
It shud be ur choice anyways.
cheers
