Try to understand the expectation of the company from the employees and if the employees are equipped to deliver
Try taking a feedback from people and assess the problem.
Then provide solution: Training, motivational activities etc.

I tend to agree with Ravi .Also I feel that its your perception that they are not motivated. It may be bcos they are new to you and you are new for them
Try to establish a rapport with them and then get into training.
Please get the basics of training and communication brushed up before presenting yourself. It may help in increasing your acceptance.
