Dear All, I am newly joined in Construction company (Pune), I need to formulate the leave policy. This Co. only have 16 leaves, so i need to bifurcate into CL, SL, PL.
Also my questions is Paternity leave we give extra leaves apart from 16 leave ? what is the policy of Paternity Leave?
The same about the employee (self) marriage shall we give extra leaves apart from 16 leaves.
Request you to all help me on same.

Shops Act will be applicable to your company. As per the Shops Act 21 days leave finds mention. There is no mention of CL, SL, or PL in the Act. As such you should not have these labels to leave even if the sum of your leave is more than 21 days. The bill for changes in leave & other aspects has not been gazetted yet. So hang on 21 days annual leave for the time being.
Paternity leave & marriage leave is your initiative. You may decide quantum of leave for the two heads. Both the leaves can be initially termed as 'provisional leave'.
In case of paternity leave you may finalise the leave if the said employee submits copy of the child's birth certificate within say, month of the birth. You may mention that only 2 instances of such leave will be permitted for an employee.
In case of leave for self-marriage the applicant can attach marriage invitation card, if he has printed it. Leave can be finalised if the said employee submits copy of the child's birth certificate within say, month of the marriage. You may mention that only one instance of such leave will be permitted for an employee.
