As per sec 1(6) of payment of wages act.
The ceiling limit is 18000/- if salary/wages
is exceed 18K the act. Will not be applicable
To that employee/workers. Pls clarify weather
this ceiling limit is for salary Basic plus DA
Or gross salary or Net salary,

under section 2(vi), wages have been given a very broad meaning. It means it will include all remuneration due to any worker or employee if term of contract are fulfilled.
It will include Any remuneration under award or settlement. Remuneration in respect of overtime. Any other sum employee is entitled to get is also wages. But this will not include HRA and Perquisite.

Dear Ashish,
Every act has it's own meaning of Wages ,Like Salary act Wages means means your gross salary same way as per bonus and PF act wages is Basic + DA .
So for PF you have to consider the Basic +DA .if the employees wage(Basic +DA) is above 18K then its depend on employees whether he want PF liability or wants exemption from PF .for that employees has to write a request letter to HR department for PF exemption and also have fill the PF exemption form(form:11) as per social compliance
