Most of us will accept that the Group-ism is high in most of the offices – friends, relatives, same caste, forward vs. backward, men and/or women, rich and/or poor, same location/school/college/ state/region/ language/department, similar hobbies/ likes & dislikes, Level/Grade/Rank & File etc.
On top of that, the Reservation Policies and Visakha guidelines add flame to that, head towards the vertical split.
Adherence is must; but practically, the ‘special beneficiaries anywhere’ i.e. Bharat in Ramayan are not seen with the balanced mindset. Recruitment, Appraisal, Promotion, Posting/deputation, Transport, Foreign travel, Training & Seminar participation, Maternity, Night shift, Facilities, Office job vs. outgoing; everywhere you will find the tool of the prize & the punishment.
Where is the equal battle-field? Who will think of the sufferers? How difficult it is for the decision-makers to analyze the rational & the non-sense factors as well and get away with it … Who knows – what is ‘emotional bonding’ in this scenario?.

Dear Sanjay,
I find negative undertone of your post.
Yes, discrimination could come from any form. But then keeping the workplace free from discrimination is what the challenge to leadership is. Most of the organised companies have policies that promote diversity. Infosys is classic example. Couple of years ago they realised that you cannot be MNC will all-Indian staffs. Therefore, they have started employing expats even in India as well.
Now particular manager or person in position of authority may misuse his powers or ignore the laid down policies. However, that does not mean that the organisation has failed per se. It is that person who fails the organisation.
As far as few companies who cherish homogeneity, they never rise beyond a point. Why bother about those companies who rather than running it professionally, turn them into rehabilitation centre for the persons from their own caste or religion?
Homogeneity Vs heterogeneity is challenge to humankind. It was there in the past, it is there today and it will remain tomorrow also. After all birds of the feather flock together goes the famous proverb. It is not that simple to defy the proverb and there could be exceptions. But then rising above this ordinariness is what extraordinariness!
Ok...

Dear Sanjay2306,
After reading your post and I did not comprehend the issue that we are supposed to consider, as I was not conversant with either Vishaka Guidelines or Emotional Bonding/Attachment at work. After reading about the former, in Wikipedia, I found that it refers to Sexual Harassment at work; I read about the latter at Detachment and Your Purpose I am all the more confused and do not understand the relevance of your statement "Adherence is must; but practically, the ‘special beneficiaries anywhere’ i.e. Bharat in Ramayan are not seen with the balanced mindset." in your post above.
So, may I kindly request you to clearly state what is the question that you would like to consider.

I repeat my question for Super Moderator from the post itself- 1. Where is the equal battle-field? 2. Who will think of the sufferers?
What are the corrective measures possible now?
First you appease a group without any time-frame ... then the dissent will arise in the other group ... you will start appeasing them ALSO because you want to be politically correct. This is wrong.
Please must plan and schedule an equal battlefield.

Sorry Sanjay, I have not understood your question. May be by going out of India, for over 45 years, is the cause.
Are you saying that it takes a long time to redress grievances, which in turn causes resentment and leads to chain reactions?

Dear Sanjay,
In fact I also had noticed incoherence in your first post. I ignored it and just addressed the lack of diversity part of it. Unfortunately your second post is as incoherent as first one.
You have clubbed too many issues. Nothing wrong in taking up many issues in one post but then you should be able to put them in sequence and also reserve one paragraph for one topic. What you want to say? Sometime you talk about reservation, sometime about victim and so on? Can you be little more clear?
By the way, your second post has not taken cognisance of my previous post!
Thanks,

Dear Sanjay,
Do fear these regulation might affect the weak and make them a soft target?
Misuse to implementation of the guidelines, should stand a misnomer, when it is a part of whistleblower strategy. Hence, integrity goes hand in hand .

My demand - equal opportunity for everybody - be it from any caste, any gender.
But the current appeasement policy is creating unrest in the lot, who are not getting any benefit.
In fact, in many cases they are not eligible to apply. This is unfair. Isn't it?
