The best method in performance appraisal is 360 degree appraisal. But Most of the companies won't follow this method for appraisal. Because it's involves huge cost and huge time taking process.
But the advantage with this method is -- the data which we receives is 100% accurate.
And applying this method in any sector , it's very good move by the management in the organization because they are considering feedback on employee from every side of the organization.

360 Degree appraisal system gives us complete picture / information of one team or group who has working under one group head or you can say one team leader. If we working on a particular proejct wherein several disciplines / department involved and every department's efforts has their own importance to complete the whole job under one umbrella. So after completing the said project we do not have any complete information about the performance of all team members. So now this Appraisal system helps us to identify the best performer and so on ...... by evaluating their subordinate from lower to higher of this team.
And like that everybody has evaluated in such a manner and after evaluation we identify the weaker section or topper section for further action such as whom we give training for correction of their skill or whom we upgrade from their existing level.
