Hi Aron,
Service bonds are no longer valid. Your employer can not keep original certificaes in his custody. You can initiate legal action against your employer to release your original certificate. I would suggest to write a request letter to your employer asking the custody of your original cerifictes. If your employer fails to do that please lodge a police complaint in nearest Police Station.

That is wrong practice.employer cann’t keep origional certificate. For boand security employer will be execute the bond by the court. Mukesh Kumar

DEAR It is totally illegal and comes in the perview of unfair labour practices .you sue them for this and file a complaint with labour authorities. tks j s malik

Hope few companies, especially does with an Judicial note / certificates holding.
Better way, you negotiate with the employer to get back your certificate / raise an FIR stating LOSS OF CERTIFICATE & apply for the another on your cost.

Dear Aaron,
I would like to remind you that at the time of joining in a hurry people do this mistake, if I am not wrong you might have not asked for an acknowledgement for your certificates from your employer / HR of the company, if the same is correct then how you can prove that your certificates are with them. Both ie., you and your employer are comfortable these many days and you have not reliased and now you quit the job hence the legality came in to picture. If you have acknowledgement then you can proceed legally otherwise some how you have to manage and get those certificates.
