Hi,
I too started my career only as a recruiter but i have slowly started to expand into other verticals also.. I work for a software concern.
What you can do is, find more details of the company which is offering you and if you feel the scope you can surely take it up.

Dear Abi,
If your present employer is forcing you to join accounts department and you are interested to take up a career in HR then try and convince your senior management about this. You should present your case in such a way that they should feel that you can add more value being in the HR department. But if you fail to convince them, then I don't see any other option, you may have to look for a change.
The offer that you are talking about looks fine if the profile of the company is good. At the beginning of your career you should opt for a generalist role. You should work in various core HR roles so that you can get exposed to all the things and understand them clearly before taking up a generalist role.
