Hi Rajni,
Sabbatical leaves are generally given by some of the organisation to employees to take some time off from work and go for further studies outside country.
It is seen by HR professional as a retention technique. Its like a job security to an employee.
Sabbatical leaves can be for a year or more.

will one still be in the payroll or be removed.
and is he valid for promotions during the period of leave.
