Hello Shruti,
You can do a lot of things. Training apart.
Have a employees Idea Club where you can ask employee to submit, discuss and implement ideas to improve working conditions, company policies or even product development, etc. This has be done informally but the minutes need to be recorded.
You can work out a team for cost cuting in the firm / company, the main focus of this team can be to researc and find our where and how the costs can be reduced without effecting the working and quality of the product of the company.
You can also organise a blood donation camp, where in the employees would donate blood for social cause. You will get a recognition cert from the blood bank and also it is beneficial for the social cause. All you have to spend is on refreshment.
You want more let me know.

Dear all,
my question is not same but related,
could you guys guide me on the same please...???
I want to start annual appraisals within my Department (Highly important employees) in early January.
Is there a template document I can use, I do not want this to be cumbersome so only a one or max two page form???

We have implemented an employee wellness program for improved health of employees and their families in our company in association with a new concept portal - www.healthizen.com You could try the same.

Hi Shruthi,
As rightly said by al our other frens....
u need to put forward activities wil bring forward the interests and awareness of the employees....
U can design a bio data kinda thing, ba da only thing is u hav to come up wid interestin n funny ?s.....
N questions wich wil bring forth da employees hidden talent n then on a weekly basis u can put them up on da notice board or some place whr its noticeable n probably do it separately for each dept or flr...
Also tk a pic of theirs so dat da othr employees come to kno somethin bout each othr....
Ask for contributions frm da employees to bring out their "latent talent". It cud be anything some sketchin painting, a write up, some poem etc.....
Cheers@work,

For appraisals you, need to have appraisal formats based on weighted avg and marks distributed on jd , kra, and ofcourse on their targets on quarterly basis.
Actually appraisal depends on the kind of organisational needs and ofcorse on volumes
