At the date of reliving unfortunately I sent some process document to my personal mail id... 4 days letter I got call from HR team they said I did some IT security violation after the call i noticed my mail at the time I deleted all the documents and I met my VP and HR with some discussion going and the end of the meeting they want some letters about this incident so I give the letter with my apology.
Will I get an experience certificate after that incident?
If they take any action about that incident what is their highest punishment?
It's affecting my new joining.

Hi,
Action for violation of IT Policy will differ from employer to employer.
Not sure what do you mean by process document. If the document forwarded to personal email id is confidential like company business secrets / company client details then employer may look into the issue very seriously. We can't predict whether your employer will issue experience certificate or not. If what you did is not intentional then submit some unconditional apology letter. It will be up to the employer to decide the further course of action.

A company has right to take official or legal action against the staff who breached security violation policy however its depend on the data or file validity as how important to them which you have forwarded/ downloaded to your personal mail/ system. if Hr is convinced with your apology written letter then they will help you on exit.
however in general any one should not forward / download others data without concern person permission - its against personal / work ethics.

How do you "unfortunately" send confidential company information to your own email address?
People not enagaged in nefarious activites don't make such stupid mistakes. In all my 50 years of working life I never ever photocopied or sent work documents to my personal email. It was particularly important for me as during my career I had several jobs involving highly confidential and top secret work. In one job, not even my colleagues sitting around me in the office had a clue as to what I was doing as t involved the sale of the business and I was the only employee outside of the two owners of the business who knew about it. My absolute trustworthiness was a skill that was highly valued. Once you lose the trust people have in you, it is a long, arduous journey back and one that is not always successful.
Now you are trying to get us to help you whitewash this despite it looking to me like a serious breach of security. Good luck with that.
