My company is a new private limited company.
what is the maximum time within which a new employee joining the organisation needs to be registered for PF legally.
I hear from few people that the new employee should be registered for PF within 90 days from the date of join. is it right?

I think the emloyee should register from date of joining, his amont of PF will be calculated from his DOJ ,but he can register at the time when person receives 1st salary or before 3 months.

From the date of joining an employee is suppose to be covered by EPF and ESI (if applicable or uncovered due to salary). It is basically the responsibility of the employer to ensure that employees are covered from the date of joining itself.

Dear All,
I would like to divide this in two parts
1. new organization should get their pf code with the 3 month of their eligibility. In this case employees will be enrolled member only after receipt of the pf code No but from the date the organization covered under the pf act and not the date of issue of code no.
2. Once the organization covered under EPF & MP every employee will be covered from day one i e date of joining except the exempted employees.
exempted employees - if the organization does not wish to deduct pf of those employees drawing more than 6500 per month.
regards

It is not the time ( 3months as stated) but the day on which the number of employees exceeds 19 (means, becomes 20) which will be the date of coverage of EPF Act. Regards, Madhu.T.K
