Hi, I have joined one of the reputed consulting firm 2 months back.

Company is performing BGV and in my past I was part of an institute 5 years back. Now the institute is working or not I do not know. I tried calling its website numbers, but no one picks and it is Punjab, far from Mumbai, can't go there to even verify it. I do not have any salary details or Form 16 or ITR return as my salary was negligible to be applicable for ITR and was handed in envelope. However, I do have offer letter which I have already provided at the time of joining. I also informed them about institute working or not.

Please assist me as I am very anxious and what should I do at this juncture. HR team informed me that there is no reply from this institute and BGV team is trying again. I do not have any details to verify my experience. Although, i have contact details of my supervisor and few students whom i taught at institute. Will this amount to my removal from the firm. Please assist me what BGV team will need in case, there is no reply from institute and what should i do to save my job at this juncture.

Dear friend,
I think that you are indulging in wild thoughts. BGV is a process just to verify the particulars furnished by a prospective or new appointee about his academic qualifications, previous experience in similar jobs and the like. Owing to absence of response or impossibility of contact of the sources referred to, if the BGV could not be completed, it cannot be a reason for sending out the candidate already appointed on the basis of his suitability to the position applied for and actually permitted to join.

Dear friend,
The BGV verification is the part of HR function and let us do their duty. We are also doing BGV, only 25% employers only giving the feedback even though they are very much existing. In present day most are having busy schedule and no body has got time for regular work in a working day, then who cares for the extra work of BGV for which no body is there to blame or praise.
You should least care provided all information given to the employer are true & genuine. Now days salary and wages are paid through bank as a proof against your salary and one can verify from your PF account, whether you were on work or not.

Dear Aj-S

We are a BGV agency and come across various such cases.

Dont be anxious,

Companies keep closing down all the time,Biggest multinational companies with thousands of employees close down

1.What you could do is contact all previous sources working with you Colleagues, students etc and try getting information about this institution ,any tax reciept/regn number ,

You might have previous mails, documents from the company,

Any previous vendors/suppliers/clients.

If you can get hold of your directors/promoters this problem can be sorted out easily.

Pls understand that a BGV's job is to verify the information given by you about your previous employment but if an employer is untraceable then you need to help the BGV agency with sufficient information about the employer/employment.
