Dear Priyanka,
The city of Mumbai is under lockdown and there is no certainty that the lockdown will be lifted. It could get extended also. Amidst this first check whether it is advisable to recruit new persons. They might work from home but if possible then hold on the recruitment till the lockdown is lifted.
I say so because laptop is a capital asset and when the asset is handed over to the employee, you must maintain the physical record. You need to make a proper agreement with the employee mentioning the maintenance of the asset, return in proper condition and above all fix the recovery percentage for the loss or damage arising out of negligence. Have you done all this? If not, then it is not advisable to hand over the laptop.
Thanks,
