This is a new trend from EPFO. Earlier minor mismatches were ignored. Now even a minute error is considered as serious mistake and the claim is rejected. In the past the adhar numbers did not have date of birth but only year of birth was available. Now this has become mandatory and it should be the same as per PF records. Another important thing is that even in the case of Income Tax payers who have been submitting the IT returns online, the PF records show the PAN as unverified.
It is possible to settle the PF and EDLI and hold the pension payment alone. But there should be genuine reason for such holding. When you visit the EPF Office they will say that everything is online and we should do it online. (Don't ask them 'then why the hell all of you are sitting here!!!') But the system will not accept if there is any mismatch. Had it been off line, sanction would be easy based on an affidavit and approval by the competent officer.
In the case of Pension, since the system is off line, you can again approach with a notarized affidavit and by submitting such proves to show that the claimant is the nominee as per form 2. Try that
