I require you value able advice in the matter of performance appraisal. In our company one employee joined 07-July-2016. As per his appointment letter his confirmation date makes 06-Jan-2017. But his HOD extended his confirmation for next 06 months. As per his personal record, he always come on time and did not take much leave and we did not receive any complaint against him. But his HOD found his performance not found satisfactory. My all question as per under.
Q: 01) So being the HR how we can identify his performance?
Q: 02) What kind of parameter HR can use to check his performance?
Q: 03) Some time many disputes arise between the HOD & employee’s so we should trust on HOD or not?
I need it on urgent based.

If performance was not up to mark, the shortcomings should have been discussed & recorded. At least discussed. Unless the performance evaluation parameters are known to employees, how can they work towards achieving them.

Sir employee thoroughly known about the performance evaluation parameters . We have discussed with employee as well as HOD but i need some other way that we can judge about his performance. For Example when we asked about his behavior to other sporting department head then they did not have any complete against him.So sir i want to know that how we can identify employee performance .

The performance review/appraisal is not available as tailor made. It should be designed to suit ones nature of co, work assignments, time line and so many other parameters. Simply making it available does't serve the purpose.
