I got contract in a steel company AS AN INDIVIDUAL it is a TMT rod manufacturing plant where i should have 15-20 unskilled laborS (which i have) their work will be to bend the rod, load into trucks/lorry's etc. My problem is i dont know what type of licence i should hold and apply for!! labors will be working just under me i might be paying them on weekly/daily/monthly basis.I will be paid by the firm directly which is giving me this contract and the labors i employ will be my concern and ll not have any connections with that company . I dont wont to start any kind of firm on contract basis or on anything. can any1 suggest me what all ill have to do.
I meet a person regarding this he asked me 35k for 0-15 no. of labors for 20 labors it would be 45k to make the license dint even say wht kind of license it is called. i would like Ur suggestions on
1. to which license i should apply for
2. what is the procedure & where it is made im residing in Bangalore but the company which has given me the contract is in coimbatore T.N I ll have to make the license in Coimbatore or will it be valid if make it in Bangalore itself??
3. What will be the total cost???
Any other things if u know which i might not be aware of....

Dear Sanjay,
As you have mentioned above, you have got a contract for some activity in steel manufacturing unit. But steel factory is not a shop , it comes under the provisions of factory act. So few necessary things must be done before start of this new work with your manpowers.
1) Get Work Order from Autghorised person from the factory either HR Head / Commercial Head.
2) HR deptt will issue you FORM -V in favour of your firm regarding your engagement in plant.
3) Since your plant is situated in Coimbatoor, get your firm registered under Contract Labour Act and with details of No of person to be engaged and prescribed fee as provided under the sate rules. For this you may contact area inspector or office of Asst Labour Commissioner. He will guide you.
4) After taking registration / Licence , take further steps for ESI & PF Registration for your firm and engaged manpower. Area Inspector will visit your Office and inspect your records which you have to make properly and regularly ( Master Register and Attendance Sheet) . Since your work are engagement of manpower in the factory ,it means factory act will apply for working hours and off.
5) Min Wages will also apply on you because working in the factory and same rate will apply on particular class of industry..
6) Registration under Itax ( PAN ) and service tax are also necessary for your firm.
In the last, make a good relation with local HR, they will help you in completing all type of formalities.
I think above will satisfy your all quarries.
