The Centre Govt has fixed Rs 10,000 as minimum wage for contract employees across the country,

After the change of rule of 25 (2)of the Wage Act, every contract worker (unskilled) will be entitled to get Rs 10,000 per month. The Supreme Court also given clear direction keeping in view of consumer price Index and variation in DA increase of minimum wage.

In view of the apex court order, enhancing first to Rs 10,000 and then the government wanted to go for Universal Minimum wage which should be statutory one and if wage Amendment Act enacted, the government will go ahead, he said.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Dattatreya said under social security for the workers, the Centre had increased the minimum pension to Rs 1,000. The bonus has also been increased from Rs 3500 to Rs 7000. The wage coverage also increased from Rs 10,000 to 21,000.

He said because of frequent disruptions of Parliament proceedings, the schemes for the workers welfare could not be debated prompting the government to go ahead with some Executive Orders for the welfare of the workers. He said a decision had been taken to pay the workers monthly salary through the bank.

Labour Ministry had framed the rule and sent it to the Law Ministry for approval and within one week a notification will be issued following which all state governments will implement the decision on minimum wage of Rs 10,000 for contract workers

But here in Gazette of India , now where is mentioned that it is applicable for all state of india, so this confuses the State Govt. and if there is any notification mentioning for all state and given a copy to all State Labour commissioner then please provide the latest notification regarding minimum wages as set by Govt of india by mentioning all states in the notification and receiving copy of state govt, and reply against it.
