Hello,
1. Please let me know whether KYC updation by employer is mandatory for EPF withdrawal.
2. My friend was working for a company for 2.5 years, has now resigned from the job, but KYC is not updated for his UAN Number. Also he doesn't have good relationship with the employer because of some issues with the agreement bond. So, is there any way he can get the KYC done other than contacting the HR.
NOTE: One more problem here is , its was an exempted organisation before, but now they also come under EPFO.
THANKS

Hi
Now a days its compulsory to update the KYC for the UAN number. If not then he/she will not be able to claim their contribution. But still there is option to transfer if at all he/she got another job.
KYC is preferred to be updated by ER but still there is option that even the EE can update thh KYC at PF office. Its better that the EE approach the EPF office so they will assist the employee to update the KYC
