Hello everyone..!

I am an MBA in (HR, Finance) with 1.5 years of experience. I passed my MBA in June 2011. Fortunately, I got a campus placement in HR in manufacturing plant. I worked there as a Management Trainee with the Generalist role for 6 months. I left that job because of unacceptable behavior of my boss. After a gap of 3 months, I then moved to my hometown and there I joined one Consultancy firm. It was a core recruitment profile.I also worked there for 6 months, reason being i got married after that. After getting experience in both manufacturing plant as well as in core Recruitment in Consultancy firm, I decided not to work in any Consultancy, because corporate jobs are better. ( I feel so). Unfortunately, I was unemployed after my marriage and did not find any corporate job for 1 year. After 1 year of struggle I got one corporate job in Real Estate, but my bad luck, the Company went into losses and after 3 months of my joining, they asked me to write down my papers. I was performing well in that Real Estate Company, reason ' Why they fired me?' because they can get their work done by my junior in less salary.

And now its been 5 months I am unemployed and not getting any good Corporate job in HR. Also, my profile is very unstable.

Seniors/Experts, Please guide me what should I do now?

1) Should I wait for my type of job i.e. Corporate job in HR and struggle for it.

2) Should I start working in Consultancy (which I don't want), to avoid that depression of unemployment.

3) Should I start up with some course or degree or diploma like LLB, CS etc. which can increase my employ-ability and I can start with a fresh move. If yes, then which is the better option after MBA?

Kindly guide me....!

Just my thoughts :

1) If Recruitment did not work out for you, don't look at it again. Indeed it is not everyone's cup of tea although it seems easy .

2) While working for the Manufacturing sector, besides your immediate boss were there others who liked your work ? Can you get their help as a reference as well as maybe they can point you to HR of other companies they know ?

3) Likewise, in the Real Estate Company can you get references ?

4) After getting all this , make a list and start contacting people. Also update your profile on various portals accordingly, along with your clear desire for a Corporate role only.

5) if you have to do some courses, i suggest Training and Development, Soft Skills etc. in line with your core foundation. It is much better to develop a building on a foundation rather than let go of the same and start anew. unless you are clear that HR itself is not for you. Law could help - perhaps some courses in Labor Law. But do them as a " continuing education " effort.

I am already doing this, as per your thoughts in 2nd, 3rd and 4th points.
Regarding a course in Training & Development, I am aware of ISTD. Will ISTD can give a boost in my career at this point of time where I am facing unstability in my career plus I am unemployed.

I can understand the pressure you faced previous times and also facing presently.

Definitely your bad luck is following you regularly ,i can say , but as a professionally skilled person you are not supposed to quit at any level, the brakes you mentioned is really intimates very bad impression to interviewer or an employer, as per policies,as per norms and no company ( Corporate ) will easily prefer you for job hence i can assume and suggest small but nice things which may be work and may give your self confidence and spirit back to you.

1-If Possible try to join any middle level company by with adjustments to your ctc,profile & designation.

2-If possible try to get good HR job in leading HR Consultancy as Mafoi and several, they may give a chance to restart your career, consultancies jobs are not bad , it depends upon how the company is.

3-As you are unemployed try to get engaged in small/short term courses of skills enhancements etc, it will nourish you cv and increase weight of your cv too.

4-Also be updated with all sorts of HR functions, new policies,updations, editions, new ventures, major changes in hr and corporate world, these things will not directly support you but a sort of extra knowledge which may be used while conversations, interviews by you to show after such brakes too you are updated of recent affairs, such kind of news collections also build up the inner level of confidence as i know updated things of market.

this action will give you proper stuff and base and fullfill some gap.

As if one only see our negative marks in cv due to few genuine reasons , no one can proceed upwards, from employer point of views C.V will stop you to get you employed, even it will make bad impression from very beginning, hence positive thoughts,updated market and subject knowledge, positive body language,humble replies,sparking eyes with confidence,reflection of your guts while answering,responsible answers,patience,logical answering,showing interest in organisation ,accepting our faults where we lack are few magical tactics which can be used to crack any interview of the universe ISHA ji..
So go ahead ,need any kind of motivation, do not hesitate for a minute, contact us, will do the needfull , as once you get the job and you continue at least minimum one year after joining will cover all bad remarks of resume and you can also motivate counsel any one..

As others have already said, adjust your expectations re company/ salary, update your skills and keep trying.
Re ISTD I have no idea - although some say it is a good course.
I'd still say target a corporate role, else one would simply be wasting time in a job one doesn't like. Your recruiting skills should be an asset to corporates as well. Just my opinion.
