Hello nikks and Tanjot,
Shall try answering your questions according to what I have seen
An external consultant generally does the following
1. For a training need already identified, supplies with the necessary trainer, course material and logistics.
2. Caters for certificate courses.
3. Plans out your induction program (technical)
4. Consultants generally cater to soft skills trainings, claiming that they are different ;)
Now, when we speak of functional training, we understand that
1. Functional training is to enhance the expertise of an executive in a particular function Ex: QA and Software Testing
2. Functional trainings are process based trainings designed to increase a particular domain knowledge and subject matter. Ex: Banking Domain, Aerospace Domain, Life Sciences Domain where training programs are designed to increase knowledge of that particular domain.
3. Regular trainings on technical skills such as C and Java helps the learner get a general idea of these two, but a functional training which is process based helps the learner understand the art of applying C and Java to his respective process and domain
I hope the info provided is useful. I call upon other members in this forum to correct me if I am wrong..... :icon1::icon1:
