Often you will often lazy bones working in an office environment. What is the best way to motivate such employees who are sincere but lazy enough to complete their task on time?
Does anyone has similar sub-ordinate in their team? How do you tackle such employees?

Look at your culture. Did it allow them to become lazy?.
Look at your employee contact system? How frequently you are in touch with them? This would enable you to know as to why they are disinterested in their work.
Look at your job rotation programme? How long ago you rotated them among different jobs. Perhaps they may find doing the same job monotonous and lost interest
Look at your work methods. Do you set deadlines for competing the job assigned to them?.
Look at your time-office management. Are you a mute spectator of an employee walking into your office late? Have you questioned them for being late?.
Look at your employee engagement activity. Did you make any effort to engage employees? laziness is the most visible symptom of a disengaged employee.
in many cases the cause lies with department but since the effect (in this case laziness)is visible, we try to address the effect not the cause.
