I want your advice on sandwiching Leave Scenario please provide me your valuable suggestion on it .
As we know the Sandwiching Scenario like . SUNDAY is a Holiday , and if any Employee takes Leaves On SATURDAY & MONDAY then it will be deducted 3 Days Sandwiching Leaves for SATURDAY SUNDAY & MONDAY .
Now My Question is :-
If Any Day on FRIDAY is holiday , and any Employee takes Leave on SATURDAY Then IS IT Also a Sandwiching or Not because on FRIDAY is Holiday and SATURDAY Employee Take a Leave And SUNDAY is Holiday .
So FRIDAY (SUPPOSE PUBLIC LEAVE) + SATURDAY (EMPLOYEE ON LEAVE) + SUNDAY (PUBLIC HOLIDAY).
IS THIS CASE ALSO CALLED SANDWICHING OR NOT ?

Its only one day leave on Saturday, as Friday and sunday is holiday, in case the person takes holiday on Monday ,then Sunday would be treated as Leave

My friends said absolutely right in their own way. But its not only depend on co. Policy. the concept behind this is prefix suffix of leaves. concept says that if person prefix the leave with authorization (like sunday is holiday and he added monday too without authorization then depend on Incharge who sectioned leaves and he can deduct the salary of sunday too so that employees don't take it habitually) suffix also says the same. In both cases employee past performance record, reliability, sincerity can be considered. so this is company policy you can say. But if he mixed both prefix & suffix = that is clubbing.

Now clubbing rule says that if leave is sectioned then there will be no deduction of salary only in case if employee have leave balance otherwise one day salary will be deducted. but if FRIDAY Leave is not sectioned by incharge then to set a benchmark you can deduct the salary of 3 days. Because he don't have any sectioned leave for that day. But if already any Sr. person had sectioned the leave of friday then Employee has permitted to take leave.

Sandwich leaves get applied where leaves taken intervene with weekly offs/holidays.
In your case as employee was present on Thursday and Friday was an holiday, he took leave on Saturday, and Sunday was the weekly off, sandwich leaves won't get applied in this case, as he took a single leave on Saturday, if he would have taken leave on Thursday and then Saturday, then it would be counted as 3 days leave, as in between his 2 leaves one holiday occurred. In another case if the same employee has taken leave on Monday as well, then 5 days would get counted under sandwich leave policy.

Do you have a 5-day-week working system ?? What does your Company's Leave Policy say ??
Can you provide the relevant extract of your Leave Policies; or are you simply shooting in the dark without having a laid-out leave policy ??

Thanks for your opinion but what happened in this case is also the same. Prefix & suffix is also not allowed in corporate. This is the situation where prefix and suffix which we call clubbing is showing. So don't you thing that rule will work on this. Because clubbing and sandwich is same. please clarify this

Your query is not clear to me that what you exactly want to know.
Anyways going through your prior post where you have mentioned unauthorized leave is clubbed, I would like to say, principally any unauthorized leave which is not been approved by reporting manager is treated as Absent and will go to Leave without pay, no matter that particular employee has leave balances in account. When we talk about sandwich leave policy, most of the company's who follow this policy go in the same way as I have described in the above post, any which ways company may make their own leave policy as per their requirement as there is no hard and fast rule for the same.
