Hi, my name is Reza and I am new to this forum. I am a partner/director at a small printing company in Kepong. There are only about 10 of us in the company. As we are a small outfit, we do not have a dedicated HR manager. I am currently handling HR matters in my company, but my experience and knowledge in HR is minimal.
My question is: What is a fair mileage rate (per km) for sales staff given the size of my company. We can't offer too high because we are small, but i do want to be fair to my sales staff.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think, it’s Malayasia. You can ask this to your country competitors to get a fair rate.

Dear Reza,
It is not a question of "big" or "small". While calculating rate/KM, we have to consider the maintenance expenses as well.
I recommend you contacting Ops Manager of some courier company that is near to your office. They have systematic method of fixing rate/KM for every type of 2-wheeler/4-wheeler. You adopt the same calculation as that of them.
Ok...

As per normal corporate is
Car : RM 0.60
Motor : RM 0.40
If bigger corporate like Sunway group is
Car : RM 0.70
Motor : RM 0.45
------------------------------
If you offer your staff below 0.60cent for car then it really a loss for them as in 0.60 is already include they maintenance + petrol(below RM80k car)..
It your call to pressure your staff or giving better benefit to make them feel as part of the company.. Benefit is one of the reason staff staying in the company for long term.
