The Kerala Govt has extended the Standing Orders Act to Commercial Establishments in Kerala coming under the definition of commercial establishment under Kerala Shops & Commercial Establishment Act 1960.The order is effective from 7th June 2013.It is not applicable to Shops.Kerala had already reduced the applicability limit of SO Act to 50 workmen.
Thus all the private Commercial establishments in Kerala with 50 or more workmen are covered under SO Act.

Dear Seniors,
I am working for a private firm registered under the Shops & Commercial Est. Act in Kerala. We have more than 50 workmen in our organisation. Our Head office is at Bangalore. We have branches in Kerala, Andhra and Karnataka. The Standing Orders have been prepared at our head office Bangalore and the same was approved by the Labour Department. All the branches are following the same.
Please let me know, whether we have to prepare a separate SO for Kerala Branch.
