Hello!!
I have recently joined as HR Executive in a Construction Company and i m Fresher too. Want to form a New HR Policy, have to introduce ID-Cards to all the Employees. What details of employees and the Organization can i mention in it. Are there any things that are compulsory to mention in an id-card. Are there any things that are mandatory for an Organization so that they can introduce ID-Cards?
Please Reply.

Hi Rucha, Kindly find attached the guidelines for I Cards. Along with it, you could also mention an Emergency Contact Name & Number, which could be printed on the I Card. Hopefully this should help.

Hi Rucha,
Congrats for your new job and I appreciate your effort to bring-up HR standards of the company. Here is my comment.
ID-Card should not be tooooo much big or it should not contain long long information
As usual the front side of the card should hav following minimum information
Company Logo & Name
Date of issue (of card)
Photo & Signature
Name (of the employee)
ID No. or badge no.
Sex
Joining Date
Profession (this can be avoided if you can give colour to each trade, say like labour green colour, masons- yellow colour, office staffs- white colour & so on, )
Grade/Class (this identifies the year of experience with the company, say A for 1-2yr, B for 3-5yr).
Division / Department
Date of Birth
Blood group
To the rear side of the Card you can include
Emergency contact no. of the employee (if in case of an accident - to be on rear side always, else it may be miss-used on lady workers)
Company’s safety instruction
All these can be put together and arranged in a good format would give you better look and style for the card
Cheers

Hi Saswat,
The attachment uploaded is not as per any statutory requirement as such. But it is as per the basic requirement of an Identity Card.
As the basic definition of an ID Card is "a card or document that serves to identify a person, or to prove his age, membership, etc." Im not aware of any particular statutory requirement being imposed on the making of an ID Card.
The format uploaded is normally used by companies showcasing the basic information of the employee.

For identity card
1.Name
2.Designation
3.Department
4.Blood Gr
5.Contact Number
Is sufficient, and used in most psu and iso 9000 standard units..
Please dont make identity card a personal file card for employee, which can create inter agitation within employee, never mention doj ..... Contact details of family.... class/grade.. etc... this things backfires in large manufacturing units...if he faces any accident/unwanted/unforeseen incidents , then police/retriever can easily contact the company , and rest the company will take care off....please dont disclose his personal residential number in such icards, ...units with more than 8-10 unions this things often makes things vulnerable to many other incidents..
