Hello, I am working in a telecom company as an hr executive newly joined. I just want to know what is my role in this as a core hr or recruiter or generalist. know we are mentioning as hr operations. I am doing inputs for payroll process, taking hr round interviews for the employees, maintaining total manpower data, giving training on appraisal system and policies, solving salary related issues, explaining about PF and ESI benefits, issuing id cards....so on. I dont know what I am doing at present and what I have to tell when I will go for any interview further. I am assigned to a branch and I am doing all hr activities from my branch and for my branch employees. but I am fully satisfied with my work because as a fresher I am learning so many things here. Please explain to me the designation.

Hi Deepa,
From what you shared, the role is very generic as you are handling all the aspects. But before confirming the same there are a few queries from my end and if you could clear it would be little better to judge.
1) Since how long are you working with your current employer?
2) Are you given any appointment letter? What designation is stated? Any specifications made?
3) Do you have any other person in HR (above you or below you or at par with you?)
4) Who do you report to?
Answer these queries in order that specific answer can be given.

Hi, Do you any branch offices for your organizations and i never seen this much of number in HR-department. Please do let me know all people are working at one place or different locations ?

15 HR as a team and yet you alone handle all the aspects of HR.
Usually this practice is common when there's only 1 or 2 HR.
What is your employee strength and as asked by Mr Ashok are all 15 HRs in the same firm or they are distributed on different locations?
As to your reporting and co-workers -
Your transfer letter states Jr HR Executive so again that is very generic title. They should also give you a list of your KRA/KPI.
What is the tasks of other HR.
What industry do you belong to? Is this a consultancy related firm? Usually they have higher number of HRs. Please elaborate.

Designations are irrelevant at the start of your career; an opportunity to learn different aspects related to human resources management is the most valuable asset that your company seems to be providing you . Make full use of it & be grateful to them. After 2 to 3 years you may earn a proper designation (based on your performance & aptitude); for the present 'Executive HR' is an honorable position. Enjoy & learn, you have a long way to go in your career & climb up the ladder of responsibilities & designations.

Has miss Ankita mentioned, i also have the same doubt that how come your company has these many HRs because even i am a HR executive in a company and i am the only HR here.
at least be happy that you have some seniors to guide you.
in my case i am just learning each and every thing from this site only......
thanx a lot for this site creator and the seniors here...........
