Hi Friends :
Ours is a software company and we have offshore projects of Jamaica, Nigeria, Singapore, Middle East etc.
Please suggest what can be the timeslots (shift) which can be applied for the teams so that we can overlap with our General shift (10 am - 7 pm).
Looking forward to your valuable inputs.

Its totally depends on you (Your Company Policy) and Rules and Regulations applicable under the Shops & Est Act, Maharashtra.
First, I would suggest you to read that act, so that you can earn some knowledge about it which I believe is really important for you.
Second, there is just a 2-3 hrs different from the locations you have assigned work and I believe you knows the shift system but required more and sufficient knowledge so that you can make suitable work atmosphere according to your need.

Hello,
You haven't provided the complete inputs to enable the members to respond/suggest.
Which all countries do your have projects in--you mentioned 'etc', which doesn't give accurate inputs for any accurate suggestions.
Also, your query isn't clear whether you want to implement the shifts in India or in the countries where you have teams working in projects.
A better way could be to check the different time-zones of the countries you have projects in & then match them to IST. Also, you may need to implement 3 shifts IF you want to cover countries like Jamaica & other NA countries--since the Time-zone difference is >9-10 hrs. There are many websites that give you the time-zone info--like World Time Engine - Current Local Time Right Now
If you have any specific query, pl do revert back.
All the Best.

Thankyou TS and Mr Arora for your inputs.
We have projects of Dubai, Nigeria, Singapore, US and our team supports from India. We want to define a shift schedule wherein we can make optimum use of our infrastructure. Majority of our employees work in a regular shift 10 am to 7 pm.
My query was that how do we plan a shift schedule with teams working in projects of different time zones. Our working hours is 9 hours inclusive of 45 mins of lunch break.
I can look into the option of checking the different time-zones of the countries we are having projects and then matching them with IST. Is there any more options I can look into.
Please advice.

Hello,
Prima facie, you definitely need to plan at least TWO shifts--which will take care of the time-zones w.r.t. Middle-East/Africa [2-3.5 hrs ahead of IST] & S'pore [2.5 hrs ahead of IST]--IF you want to cover the FULL DAY of those countries.
However, your problem will be reg the US time-zones [9.5-13 hrs ahead of IST--depending on where you are dealing within USA]--like BPO/ITeS companies, you may need to plan night shifts if the number of US projects are high & need to be supported on a daily-basis.
Another aspect of globalization is this: just forget about the urge to work as per OUR timings. If one wants to handle clients in other countries, we need to modify/change the way we operate.
Hope this helps.
