hi.. I am working with xxx India for for last 6 months and the experience has been horrible with the team. Due to stress i fell sick and now travelling back to my home for complete dignosis where as i have received an email from my lead that he wont approve my leave and mark me absconding...... whereas i have sent entire scanned medical documents to him ... can any one suggest how to tackle this where i would like to say that xxx provides unlimited sick leave to its employees...

Hi, if you have informed your team leader about you that you are not able to continue due to your illness and required leave, you just have to submit your all prescription/treatment and other relevant medical bills to your HR. But you must have taken the permission from his bcz you have to work under him in your return.

And as you said that your experience with them is not good, then you must look for a new job after some time and dont care about it ...but if you are making excuses of your illness and are worried about this bad experience with them, i dont think you are at right path..

Coming to the point, in your return when you will present the valid reason and your complete treatment/prescription/bill and other relevant medical documents to him, surely he will understand your part and will approve your leave. Also you have to present the same document to your HR for their work ..your Team leader cant perform the job of HR personnel but can give you more bcz you have to work under him in your return. Think about it first.

Now you need to take proper medication..Take Care and Best of Luck

Dear Deepika,
From your query, what I understood is you need to inform about your sick leave within stipulated period set by your employer. In case you did not report the status of your leave or ill health and your employer has no information about your leave, it will be looked as -
1. you were absent from your duties.
2. since you were absent from your duties beyond certain days stipulated by your employer, there is a possibility of you being treated as absconding employee.

Deepika, No company will sanction unlimited sick leaves. There must be be some ceiling. Pon

Dear Deepika, no organisation gives unlimited sick leave to people who have worked for the firm for 20 years, let alone six months. Hence, you can't do much having worked for them for only six months; you can only appeal to the HR.

Hi Anil,
Thanks for your reply.
i will make a note to bring all my relevent documents of medical condition when I am back to work.
I have informed the lead on daily basis about my condition and when there was no considerable improvement in my health I was advised by doctor to take complete rest and to go for further diagnosis ... the best option can be only home because apart from medication precaution is also must.
When I asked permission for this I dont know what went wrong and his quote was" I dont want to get into technicality /criticallity of your illness. i have given you time to recover still you are not wellso i cant run business in same way and i am forced to mark you absconding if you are not resuming your services"
just shocked to hear all this.... and stressed too

XXX india says it relys on its employee and genuine medical /sick leaves are unlimited and you PLs/ earned leave wont be affected that means you will get the salary regardless of sick leave

Hi Nash, My appeal to the HR should be for granting me leave or action against TL for mental torture or changing my team..................

Dear Deepika, i dont know what other thinks and experienced in this regard but my 6 years of experience with different-different Industry and knowledge says that you need to inform everything about your illness to your HR personnel too.

Sometime Bosses never try to understand the situation of employees and thinks that employee is doing these things/taking leave consciously with some purpose and they use this language intentionally what your team leader has used. They actually wanted to verify the reason or LEAVE or this behavior..

I have seen this my around many time and have discussed on the same with many people, therefore, I can say this..

Maybe some peoples here on this place wont agree with it and Im not intended to advice or something but just sharing what I have seen and experience in my career/life.

You just need to inform your HR personnel and team leader again and try to convince him ...also you need to join them soon..till then take proper medication and rest which is your first priority now..

"We should not care about the consequence before making attempt, until we do, we cant get the right or wrong of our doing then why we scared of doing"

Until your return you must not think about it and need to take proper medication and rest..Take Good Care and Best of Luck
