HI All, Im expecting a performance appraisal discussion this month. Very anxious to talk to my Manager; My problem is though im working since 3 years in this company, my colleagues who joined recently with same designation as im having are paid 85%+ of my current CTC. Whereas, those working since years are being paid annual hike of 15% to 25%.
With this, im not able to digest the facts. At same time, i want to continue working for this current company, and also get handsome salary hike,,
Can i demand and compare my CTC with new joinees CTC in the discussion ? Please advice

Hello,
Have patience ! What is the nature of your company, is it small scale ? Usually, established companies don't hurt the existing staff by any such act.
Hope this is your first company. What is the profile of your colleague, it might happen designations are same but he is given additional responsibility. Get the full information with you.
Also the appraisal is not yet effected. Yes, during appraisal discussions, you can politely ask what is the rationale behind framing salaries, especially for new joinees. But your approach should be very humble, as if you want to know the information rather than talking specifically about your case.
You have expressed desire to continue with that company so keep an attitude that you want to do the best in your work and get the substantial benefits too.
All the best !

Some of the reasons for more salaries of New joinees:
1.) Educational backgrounds
2.) Skills/Experience and Exposure in the key result areas.
3.) Demand and Supply of that particular skills.
4.) Critical need to fill the open vacancies....and many more...
You should focus on learning and extending your area of responsibility to get more salary in the competitive world.
