Hey everyone:
I was going through some reading material online re Herzbergs 2 factor theory. In some places, job status had been labelled as a hygiene factor, whereas in others it had been labelled as a motivator. Could someone please clarify as to which category job status falls under?
Thanks in advance!

JOB status is hygiene factor. In this theory there are 6 motivational and 9 hygiene factor.

Job status can give security in some areas like the Tenured Professors in America. Once they get that, they can't be fired unlike a non-tenured lecturers and Asst. Professors.
Also, ask yourself a question. Will you be motivated to work just because some one gives you a different job title without the perks (like a car, large office, extra pay, or free medical insurance, etc) attached to it.
Have a nice day.
