Hi All

Sorry for the lengthy mail, Please help me

I am working in a pharma company (X) and I have total experience of 8years. I attended interview in one of the pharma company (Y) I cleared telephonic rounds (HR and technical) and 20 days before I attended direct technical interview, after clearing it on the same day I met MD after that on the same day did medical test also. After clearing every thing HR had informed that, I have been selected and they will send a verification letter to my manager, after getting feed back from manager, they will send the formal offer letter to me.

Few days latter, they had sent letter to my manager saying that they have selected me and they need few verification like my salary, and about teamwork, decision-making etc. My manager had replied to that and got confirmation letter from that HR. The problem is after so many days I didnt get any letter from them when I spoke to the HR they informed that MD is traveling so they have put offer letter on hold and they will call me when it is ready.(Others who got selected with me got offer letter)

The problem I am facing in my current job is my manager is not allotting any work to me as I got another job and this will surly affect my appraisal. I dont know what I have to do now kindly help me in this

Thanks in Advance

Dear Arun,
Please talk to the HR of the hiring company and explain your suitation to them. Request them to atleast send a fomal mail to your personal ID that they have offered you and the date of your joining. If you are really interested in the offer then inform them that after receiving the mail from them you have planned to put down your papers.

Hi Arun!
It's Clearly Says that, the company(Y) which sent you letter (as that they have selected you and need few verification like ur salary, and about teamwork, decision-making etc). And didn't gave you offer letter and DOJ , it's clearly says that it has cheated you.Because (Others who got selected with you got offer letter). So clearly there is no doubt they kept you in hold that surely. but this holdings may be 50-50 IN or OUT>
So as Per my Advice, The company (X) which you were working presently, tell that manager the complete story of what happened and give him some assurance of not leaving current job. So that he can assign you asual work.

Dear Arun,
Rightly said by Babu to follow up with the hiring company's HR and rather get into a detailed discussion as I dont know why but am sensing something fishy here.
Is it that the MD signs all the appointment letters there? I would have my own set of apprehensions here... Just check whether the vacancy is still there or they have also offered to someone else and kept you as a back up. i.e incase the other person does not join then they would take you...... do get these details probed.

I spoke to the HR and they told they have put me on hold. In the mean time my current company is busy in audit preparation I will talk to my manager about the situation when he is free.
Thanks all for your suggestions

Dear Arun,
Did u submit your notice in the present organisation.First off all confirm with the new company that to confirm either offer is there or not to u frankly then it is possible to u to take any step.If there is confirmation of offer to u then take ur manager's behaviour lite if the offer is not there then speak with ur manager and confirm about ur service continuation. My opinion is first confirm the hr of new the time take to issue offer ,basing on that give notice. Don't fear yer u r HR ...........ALL Z WELL........

HI Arun, I can understand what you are going through and dear it is obvious that why your Manager is not assigning you any more work because of your verification from the new employer. And just bcz he get aware of your planning to leave this current job, he is not pleased with you.

Second, I dont think that your current Manager has given a positive response of verification letter sent by the company where you have attended your interview and definitely just bcz of this negative response by your current employer, the company officials of 'Y' is not giving you a positive and favorable response. See I wont say that the company Y has cheated you because, its all happened bcz of Negative response provided by your Current Manager to them.

Now the point is that you have lost your Manager's faith on you, please dont scare and feel bad. And im not saying this to discourage you, but want you to face the reality. See I have seen too many similar cases and discussed this problem many times and found the same reaction every time by the current employers.

Now back to the solution of your problem, you need to talk to your current Manager first and try to convince him and let him know the real situation.

- Although there is no need to be in touch with the Company Y anymore bcz the answers they gave you are enough to say that there are not more interested in hiring you but still you can follow-up with them maybe you can have any positive and good news

Hope you got me point...

Best of Luck
