Dear28677c5420521383353edc6e6,
You are wrong what ever the salary increases the cost of living too increases or the money value will be lost. how long will you be enjoy with lot of money or with the same job. think lateral.. you will gets bore even though you get all benefits, this what's happening around us eg. a VP Mrkt getting salary of Rs. 68,000/- jumps to another company where he gets pay of Rs.85,000/-. and a thing, think that what will employer have at last, ...? he cant develop his industry or not able to run furthur in future. its seems bitter, but true... thats life..!

The response was keeping in mind Ruby69's statement which means that salaries does not rise upto employee expectation and not the literal meaning that salaries do not rise at all.
Now for your VPMKTG jumping from 68k to 85k...does it mean he is bored of the money and the benefits?? Sir...its a jump from 68k to 85k and not vice-versa i.e. from 85K to 68k in which case u cud have said its job satisfaction etc etc which is also not true. From lower to higher people jump to get more and from higher to lower people jump to get less eg responsibility, peace of mind, family life etc etc.......This is the bitter Thruth. No More No Less!................rgrds

It is very difficult to pursue your boss to increase your salary in private concerns. Boss will increase your salary if you burn your midnight oil, stay late in the office and take all your work credit to your boss. You should have yes boss attititude.
Take maximum out of the employee as he or she is a tool to increase the output of the company, if he/she compalins than exit doors are always ready to receive him or her. This is the main principle of our companies except some reputed ones who treat their employees as a assest.

Hi Adil,
I totally agree with you.. I was in recruitment and I know the fact, employee very rarely get a decent hike. We all know the fact that once we jump an organisation you get a better hike and you can demand more. The employees' boss plays an important role, in been fair in terms of his salary and work. Hr's job is to conduct training for such bosses to build a strong, happy and a productive team
I don't need an HR job just make sure people leave and I keep replacing them. I believe HR's job is to
1.control attrition,
2.retain good employees,
3.fight for what salary they actually deserve,
4.create an happy environment where they look forward to be in the office everyday.
But not just be a mode to process offer letters.

see what i feel is as an when responsibilities of aparticular employee increased employee start thinking of a particular burden for retention purposes an employer need to evalute the performance atleast in 6 months and some hike in its salary structure to retain that employee otherwise he wont think while shifting to other organisation so i think you should contact to an hr professional for the same so that they can communicate to their seniors on this behalf

@Ruby69

You got me wrong....I have put that reply in jest to show the fact what happens in the Industry. See my reply to Prasant Lal in this post itself. being into HR I myself dont like to see the injustice been done but then many times we are helpless...I do make a point to show employees in proper light to their superiors as far as possible within my limits....The Point I wish to make is that many a times deserving employees dont get the raise they deserve and undeserving employees manage to make it...favrotism, doing personal work, maintaing personal relationships with superiors seems to be the order of the day to get a proper increment and promotion....thats what is disheartening and it exists everywhere.....How I wish to see that a proper performance matrix of accountability would have taken place....I have seen a male officer works like a hog day in n out and on holidays etc etc and is brilliant but gets a 2k raise whereas a female secretary (only typing) within the same dept reports late, is on leaves, never sits late and gets a 13k raise.....such is the kind of performance review that HR & Management seem to have made where there is absolutely no monitoring of favouritism....wish someone would have appreciated this problem and implemented a stringent tight performance appraisal over-riding such illegal activities...but then we cannot change the world but ourselves n thats precisely what I do.

God Bless U too!

Thanks & Best Regards
