Hi.... can someone help me with latest amendments in the maternity benefit act.... i heard the its now been extended from 3 months to six months.... NC

Dear Member,
Under The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 this benefit is only for 84 days & we have also not heard any proposal for any amendment in the period of maternity benefit.

I had also heard that these leaves revised from 84 days to 6 month. But then I confirmed with our companies legal lawyer. he confirmed the 6 month act is only applicabel to Govt. and Semi Govt sector. Not for Public Ltd. and ltd. Companies.
