Hi, what is the status of a contract worker in respect of National Holidays and public holidays. Do they qualify for payment.

First decide under which of the enactments we are to grant national & public holidays & then see in that Act whether the Contractor's establishment is also covered for grant of these holidays. In my opinion both national & festival holidays are given under the State Acts.
