Bhavana - I handle large teams in operations and contact center world and based on my experience, I would suggest - two things are extremely crucial for a trainer
1) Content – One needs to know, granular level details about the training content to handle Q/A efficiently
2) Personality of the trainer – it’s the trainer, who adds – life to the slides, tint of pleasing attitude and loads of confidence
While taking trainings – one needs to feel that, you have arrived and you are THE most confident creature on the planet. Trust me, once you feel it from within, you have it.
I will be pleased to know you career progression, so do find time to write back.
Good luck !!!

Hi Bhavana,

I find that for Behavioural/ soft skills training, experiential training programmes are good and they create a good impact on the participants. It is not always necessary to have lengthy workshops. Smaller 2 to 3 hrs sessions can be evolved over specific issues. I combine a bit of discussion by throwing in a topic or key words and get the participants talking on the subject. Summarise the key points that emerge; of course subtly adding in points being missed during the discussion. Thereafter, conduct activities designed to bring out the specific desired learning. Post activity, I get the participants to share their observations and summarise the learnings.

2. As for training on technical topics, it is a whole lot different and their have to be different strategies to make the training effective. Interaction/ participant querries, micro tasks, assignments in groups, and good presentation can make even these sessions interesting and thereby increasing their take home for the participants and impact on skills.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Dear Suddha,

Typically for a trainer's interview the basic things a interviewer looks is pleasentness, communique, good listening ability.....

You need a good command over your organized thoughts, logical replies, "ask" attitude...

Key knowledge in your field is must....jack of all master of none does nt work....you need to be master in your field.....

Typical questions you may face as follows

Q1: why from a background of Hotel Management, Catering and Applied Nutrition Hotel Management, Catering and Applied Nutrition you made a shift to BPO inductry.

Q2: why you left AMEX??

Q3: Interviewer will strech the role and responsibilities and he wouldnt be convinced from your answers bcoz credit analyst needs to be finance qualified and bla bla bla.....

Q4: Interview will think of the stability issue..........

you have shifted from AMEX to SPANCO bt you were jobless from June 07 to dec 07....you need a valid reason to answer

In and all i dont see few aspects in ur profile which a typical trainer needs:

1. Specific knowledge of a field like finance, CRM, any technical know how etc etc
2. your educational qualification is not alingned with your current profile.....
3. Typically in last 5 yrs u have chnged 4 companies..some questions can be there on stability,
4. your CV is very long plz make it bit precise...point to point...
5. If u feel please change the format of ur CV
6. Interviwer can ask you s sample presentation on any topic....
7. Why "Training" as career???

I hope u wont mind my critics .....

Do revert
