5S - Five S - Lean Manufacturing website describes the 5 Ss and gives examples too. I have visited Coibatore before and have given a presentation on 5S to a textile firm.
5S Lean Manufacturing If you register with them they will send you 130-page powerpoint presentation.
I wil be visiting India from 4 Sept till 20 Jan. I am not sure when I will visit Coimbatore, which I do every year to conduct seminars at GRD Inst of Mgt.
I have a wonderful video produced by Productivity Services Inc. The Indian productivity Services may have copies too, which they will lend.

I will be in India from 4 Sept till Mid Jan 2009. I conduct Author Workshsops, etc for acdemics and higher education students. I have also done seminars at a textile firm in Coimbatore, a few years ago.
Usually, academic institutions pay my travel expenses, living expenses, etc and pay me an honorarium.
I have excellent videos on 5s and Value Stream Mapping. If you are prepared to pay my expenses, etc, I am prepared to come to Coimbatore anytime convenient to both of us during my stay in Bangalore and conduct some sessions for your firm.
As per the programmes cinfirmed so far, I should be free during early Sept or mid October onwards. I have a session on Balanced Scorecards in Bangalore on 13 Sept., Author Workshops + Research Methodology seminar in Goa on 4 October, 6th October in Pune. There are other sessions (dates being negotiated) on "Roles of Faculties and HODs" and "Improving Learning through Creative Assessment and Teaching" for academics in two Institutes of Management in Bangalore.
