Dear,
Salary is bifercated on the basis of employee's gross/ctc salary.
and the basic assumption is that no basic salary reduced.

Dear Nirmala,
It differs from organization to organization.
Generally most of the organizations keep basic at low rate.
For example if your CTC is 100 Rs. then you can biforcate as below
Basic+DA 40 to 50 percent
HRA - differs based upon the grade (you can make it 15 - 20 percent of Basic)
CCA - it will be better if not exceeding 1000Rs
PF - 12% of Basic+DA or Rs6500/- which ever is less; according to employer convenience
ESI - Should caliculate on Gross Salary ( 4.75% from Employer & 1.75% from Employee)
You can adjust the remainig amount in terms of conveyance or other allowance.
Hope you are clear.

There is no fixed percentage of Basic component. But, for uniformity purpose, you can keep Basic component as fixed percentage of the total CTC.
Basic: 40% of CTC
HRA: 50% of Basic for metros (40% of Basic for non-metros)
Transport Allowance: Rs 800 pm (as more than this is taxable)
PF: 12% of Basic component
Special Allowance: CTC - (Basic+HRA+Transport+PF)
Hope it helps !!

Daer Nirmala,
You can not do break up in salary which is in basic or consolidated as this will effect the benefits of the employees.Salary should be as per the terms & conditions of appointment. If the employees are covered under the Industrial Dispute act,1947 then you have to serve notice of change section 9A of this Act of 21 days otherwise consent of employees is must. If you do at your level then this will be a breach of contract.
Opnion submitted as requested.

Dear Nirmala,
As per your query, u would like to know salary break procedure.
Pls find the same as under :
Basic Salary : 50% of Gross Salary of The month
HR : 50%-60% of Basic salary of the month
Conveyance : Rs. 800 only
Rest is based on eligibility of the employee mentioned in his/her Appointment letter and Compensation Structure.
I hope it will help you to understand the same.

dear nirmala,

the current basic salary can not reduce of any employee, as ur case is defferent that u are giving total salary and caluating other benefits on the total salary. In that case if all employees agree than u can bifercate.
