Hello Deepti,

You are lucky to get paid for doing nothing. I was too, even as a worker. I know that pretending to be busy is the most boring and frustrating thing. As a student of management, you can start observing what goes on around you; how people interact, etc. Also try to keep a diary soon after reaching home and reflect on what was going on and why? Interact with people, become friends with them, and ask questions. Draw an organisation chart, flow charts of various activities that goes on at work, etc. See how the processes could be improved by eliminating non-value added activities.

You need to take the initiative. I know one student who was studying for BSc in Marketing, who went for internship, and got a job as Product Manager by doing what I am suggesting.

I prepared a ppt presentation that was never delivered. i have attached the same.

I would like to have some feedback: what points have I not covered, etc.

Best wishes

Narasimhan

Hi,
I suggest that you tell the on site intern supervisor that you are want more engagement. As was suggested, see where is an opportunity to use initiative to work on a project or contribute to the solution of problem.
I find that when interns come forward and ask for more challenge and more participation, the organization often responds.
If are particularly interested a facet of HR, ask if you can more closely with those engaged in that type of work.
In any new comer role, its important to demonstrate that u are willing to be helpful, and support the team
