What is the major difference / Requirement of Relieving Letters and Experience Letters as both the letters usually mention about the employees Start Date and End Date and the designation of the employee. Why do companies usually ask for both separate letters.

Yes.. What Nidhi said is tru.. Relieving Letter will formally anounce that the resigned employee is relieved on the closing hours of business on a particular day. However a Service Certificate will tell about the various positions he held during his tenure. It will also tell about the reason for relieving. Some companies have simplified the certificate by mentioning only the last position held.

Hi Archana,
I agree with nidhi & ramesh.........
Reliving letter is one which confirms the acceptance of employee's resignation & shows the clearance of full & final settlement+ resigned employee is relieved from the closing office hours of a particular day.
Experience Letter shows the designation of the employee and for how long a employee worked with the particular organization and in his work period what were his areas of expertise.
Hope the mentioned detail is enough to clear diffrence between Reliving & Exp. Letter.
