Hi,
Im working as an HR Executive in an ERP consultancy company. We had a culture where one day was fixed for presentations and an employee was required to give a powerpoint presentation on any topic (either of his/her choice or given by management). The employee was given one-week notice to prepare the presentation. The idea was to transfer and share knowledge; at the same time, improve presentation skills of employees.
The practice was very well received in the beginning but then, employees began to grow bored of it. Also, when projects started pouring in, less people began to attend it. Gradually, the practice stopped and now we have to practically plead people to participate in this weekly session, if there is held any once in a blue.
My question is: how to make it interesting so that people can think of it as something interesting and knowledgeable. please suggest some methods (such as awards) which prompt employees to participate. (Please dont tell me to give certificates because our employees dont think much of certificates).
Thank you.

Dear n.gajendra, thank you so much for your document; however, i was unable to open it for some reason. Can you please resend it on ? I would really appreciate.
And Senthil, thanks for your suggestions too - they really helped me in getting some ideas. in management games Im thinking of doing role plays to reduce the gap b/w mgt and staff. Do you have any suggestion from where can i get the format or if there's any sample material available?
thanks again all.
