Here are the 5 ingredients of a world-class personality:

Ingredient 1: ORIGINALITY: If you want to be a world-class, you can’t be a copycat of someone else you know or know of.

Ingredient 2: AUTHORITY: Your unshakable confidence in yourself & in what you’re saying matters a lot. You’re either an authority or you’re taken casually. Most people lose the game here.

Ingredient 3: EMPATHY: Make sure your communication makes people see your heart, don’t forget to see the hearts of others too. Don’t be a robot, be a caring leader.

Ingredient 4: COMFORT: While you’re a great personality, you become world-class when you make others around you feel comfortable sharing their views with you. And this happens when you’re comfortable being the REAL YOU.

Ingredient 5: WISDOM: Know something none else does. Say something none else can. Ask thought-proviking questions that make people wonder & ponder. Don’t be predictable. Be distinct.

Dear Vinayakumar,

You have given five ingredients of a world-class personality. My comments on each ingredient are as below:

Ingredient 1: ORIGINALITY: If you want to be world-class, you can’t be a copycat of someone else you know or know of.

Comments: - Yes, authenticity and originality should be hallmarks of one's personality. This ingredient applies to all and even more so to the members of this forum. However, to be original, one needs to use one's intelligence. By depending on someone else intelligence or artificial intelligence, one cannot be original

Ingredient 2: AUTHORITY: Your unshakable confidence in yourself & in what you’re saying matters a lot. You’re either an authority or you’re taken casually. Most people lose the game here.

Comments: - I have a difference of opinion here. By just being confident, one does not bestow oneself with authority. Authority has to be bestowed by the top leadership. What if the top leadership just makes the juniors responsible without commensurate authority? Can the self-confidence be a substitute for the external authority?

Ingredient 3: EMPATHY: Make sure your communication makes people see your heart, don’t forget to see the hearts of others too. Don’t be a robot, be a caring leader.

Comments: - Yes, empathy in one's communication is important and it flows from ingredient 1, originality. If one is superficial, one cannot demonstrate empathy

Ingredient 4: COMFORT: While you’re a great personality, you become world-class when you make others around you feel comfortable sharing their views with you. And this happens when you’re comfortable being the REAL YOU.

Comments: - When others will be comfortable sharing their views? They will be comfortable provided one demonstrates listening skills and does not interrupt other person when he or she is speaking. At times, the bosses have a very strong force of their personality and the juniors just keep quiet. Additionally, others will feel comfortable provided one does not show haughtiness or high-handedness in one's behaviour.

Ingredient 5: WISDOM: Know something none else does. Say something none else can. Ask thought-provoking questions that make people wonder & ponder. Don’t be predictable. Be distinct.

Comments: - Knowledge is the foundation on which wisdom rests. One demonstrates wisdom when one can read writing on the wall. The ability to show foresight and forward-thinking are signs of wisdom. Learning from one's or someone else's past mistakes and avoiding repetition of those is a sign of wisdom. Wise persons show common sense, and prudence while dealing with the situations or persons.

Final comments for the members of Citehr: - The ingredients of the world-class personality apply to all and the originator of this post cannot be the exception. I wish he had mentioned the source of the article. He has copied the post published by Radhika Sharma on LinkedIn. Members may click here to refer to her post. Therefore, while concluding, I wish to add one more ingredient of a world-class personality: never contradict yourself!

Thanks,
