What is the meaning of 40 man hours of training? How is it calculated?
From India, Jaipur
Hi Friend/
This is related to man hours that particular employee need to undergo training. I hope it is per year ie., that particular employee need to undergo 40 hrs training.
In case of Financial year ie., 1st April to 31st March'18:
A training calendar need to be prepared basing on the areas the employee needs to undergo training
Ex: April '18 - 8hrs ( Behavioral)
May '18 - 4hrs ( Safety)
June'18 - 4 hrs (GMP)
August'18 - 8 hrs ( Technical)
Sept'18 - 4 hrs ( Safety)
Nov'18 - 4 hrs ( GMP)
Jan'19 - 4 hrs (SOPs)
Feb'19 - 4hrs ( Tech.)
Hope you are clear.

Dear Rudradeva,
If you are from manufacturing company, then for your business the following costs are important:
a) Inventory Carrying Cost of Raw Materials
b) Work in Progress (WIP) Inventory Costs
c) Inventory Carrying Cost of Finished Goods
d) Capital costs to run the operations
e) Capacity costs
f) Maintenance costs
g) Quality costs
h) Inspection costs
Therefore, your focus should be on controlling the above costs and not on number of training hours per se. Controlling the above costs may demand training for more than 40 hours. Therefore, you may decide your priorities on the business requirements or hours of the training.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
