Hi Anujit,

Thanks for your opinion RSK. Its nice.

As you are fresher, You will be very eager to do something to prove yourself.

I feel that the word movitivation will not be meant by our inspring words. And they should be come to know by our activities dedicated to them.

I share some of my opinion, As of now I have gone through.

1. Better be kind and polite with all the employee. Better not to show that you are their Boss and they are your sluts.

2. Better not to simply through the work to them. Ask Volunteer to do that, So that they can prove their selves to do it perfectly and the work will be completed at our end.

3. Better give a nice appreciation to them whatever they do, So that they will start loving their job and do things intensively.

4. Better doing your work by your own to get inspire of yourself to others.
Eg: If you want your employees to get completed the Document or assignment, better not to give full work load to them. get your involvemnt in that and make themselves support of you, So that they will be eager coming to do that or someother activites Voluntarily afterwards and love working with you.

5. Better share your assignments given by your Boss and ask them give a presentation etc.. in a meeting, So that they will come to know how worth and how importand they are for their job.

6. Better try to read their mind whether they are overloaded. If so, find some other way to make them comfortable.

Please try this, and give your suggestion if I am wrong at anywhere.

Dear Anuj,
Nothing motivates employees than empowerment. Tell your management to initiate this major HR intervention.
By paying high salary, you just buy time of the employee. Empowerment energises the employee.
But it is easier said than done. Hardly any management will agree to do that!

Any motivation techniques could stable only for certain period may be for 2days.. or 2hrs.. you could do tat by workers participation method.. Invite their views, ask them to come up with new ideas.. make them feel how important they are to the organization,,

Other than all these you can motivate them (As you asked on day to day basis) by recognitions and complimenting on there performance. It directly motivates them to work more better.

Nothing motivates more than what an open culture can do to you, where employees are free to talk to their seniors and seniors involve their juniors in sharing information.
Money can motivate you to stay back with the company for sometime, but cannot motivate you to work at your full potential.
Other practical demotivators can be:
1. Delayed payment of salaries
2. Cumbersome process for claiming what you have already spent for Co.
3. Unclear systems and policies
4. Suffocating workstations
5. Forced late sittings
Hope I make sense.

hi,
i agree with anjut, no two employees have same requirements or needs, so motivation is a complex issue...what one motivates one person may not motivate the other..
There are several factors associated with motivation
- Intrinsic and Extrinsic factors associated with ones job and associated life..
-the best thing is ..if its a small or medium sized orgn.. HR can look into the matter, as to try to find out what motivates each employee...but in case of a large one, immediate superior is the person who should be concerned about it..i mean he needs to know what are the things that motivates his junior..
-
Most of the time - its Concern for employees and empowerment that are great motivaters
and in times of recession its always Job security..assurance that the orgn cares for them, Support from top management is all important ..and i guess that motivates them...

I agree with a lot of the comments above.

The key to motivating employees is creating an environent where employees are self motivated. This is much harder that said, but it is accomplished by engaging your employees. Now engaging your employees involves a number of areas and needs buy in from the leadership. Here is a list of some of the key areas that need to be addressed to increase employee engagement and employee motivation.
1. Vision - Leaders have to share the vision and strategy of their organizations. This allows employees to follow and help support the strategy.
2. Empowerment and ownership - Employees need to be empowered to do their jobs. They also have to be held accountable for the results.
3. Recognition - Leaders need to recognize the work the employees do and ensure the employees understand how their work impacts the business and the customers they support.
4. Respect - Need to treat employees with respect, show them that you value their skills and abilities.

There are other things as well such as transparency, communication and the basics such as compensation, but these four will take you a long way in motivating your employees.

Two employees may not have same requirements or needs.
Though motivation is a complex related, Insipration of our behaviour will connect all of them and that would be the great motivation to them.
For Eg. The universal truth is that No one will be ready to die at any situation for anyone or for anything. But It was an exception at the time of struggling for freedom because every Indian was motivated through the Insipration of their leader's behaviour. So they were serious and ready to do anything. Sorry. I am going somewhere out of topic :D.
Like the same, If the leader's approach will affect more to each and every employee.
If you are still unbelievable, Please try asking about Boss to the person who hates his/her job. He must start scolding his/her boss from right way:icon1:.
Please let me know your suggestions about this opinion.
