Again I am here with my querry cum problem.....
I am working in a manufacturing company. Work culture is mostly like same as other Indian Manufacturing companies have.
I really want to work,seriously work but I alws fall a prey to Politics and not strong or smart enough to face these things ...so many times I get fooled...
My boss, I don't know how to deal with him. He is not Professional one ,sometimes helps but sometimes behaves very unprofessional & irrational. He is the main person from HR Dept. He has some problems with me,he has given me reference for job here when I needed job. I don't know him personally. I don't know much about core HR things except Recruitment. Here I work for Recruitment & activities like making service certificates etc n getting it signed by him...he tells me mostly the work like clerk do..I don't feel bad for working but the way i was ask to work is hurting.
Also our company don't pay for hiring through consultancies. I ask only those consultants who used to provide candidates earlier. But one day my boss scolded me &said why I hire through these consultants?Do they pay me for that? I was hurt that day because I never work like this(In my previous company also I used to hire candidates from few consultants who take money from candidates but I never took money from them too) & I take help of consultants only when I am not able to get candidates...SO this thing was disturbing me. But to my shock,after few days I came to know through that consultant only that my boss has given him requirements....I didn't understand how to react over this. I asked boss,that are we hiring from this consultant?first he denied,on 2nd day he said we will check how this consultant works...so I gave him requirement.
like this thing other things are also there in his behavior which are disturbing...I don't understand what type of a person he is. He always keeps an eye on me like with whom I speak in office n other personal things,he did some differences with my salary offered also...
Sometimes I think to leave the job,but I want to work & get experience into core HR .
What should I do...I really felt so disturbed by this . Also here there is tremendous work pressure. As I don't have time to complete my commitments. he has given me lots of work to work on many requirements & daily gives me work like clerical things. He can't speak in English properly & always taunts me that English communicating people don't know anything. Last month he selected one girl but our consultant & one senior person rejected that girl. From that day boss is targeting me & said what I did ,that she got rejected. He used to say me that she is smarter than me,she has knowledge & very active bla bla bla...I have taken all these things lightly. But now he is saying that I have to do things alone I won't get any helping hand,while previously two persons handling my profile...

Nice case study.. and issue is not much serious. One just need to handle it very patiently. lets start from begin..
Politics is a part of working environment you can run from that only you can do is to learn things from your past and don't repeat it again. Don't much interfere in others issue and play your responsibilities very clearly and precisely. your dedication is completely towards your work and it seems that you'll have a good carrier in future soon. just be patient on every situation.
Point is first your boss, you better understand who exactly is boss. one who can scold you any time if you are not working systematically. That's boss nature when sometime he became friend and next minute he realized you that he is still your Sr. you should learn HR persons. They are very smart. you are working there as a recruiter exe. and also doing things on clerical part. This is very nice. your are learning things from beginning. So never hesitate from this. you do 10 things in right way and if only 1 will be in wrong way then you'll get remark of all 10 in same way. Boss do that. so always try to digest things as much as you'll digest you'll be good inside. Don't say no to him but with yes say sir i agree with your point but this is also an option we have in this situation. we can try this and this and that. but don't say directly no to him. If he scold means he try to you to do things acc. to him. he is there because of his skills. or whatever but now he is your Sr. so it is your responsibility to listen him properly and implement everything acc. to him. Now here is the point you have to edit.....
put everything in written from now. No verbal comm. with boss or any peer if it is official then mention it in email and make a record of everything and mail it to Boss so that he'll come under that also CC to any other Sr. authority if you report related to that or any peer who come under that. Everything should be in written. The thing which you had done.. started talk with consultants and lined up candidates through the source. There is not any harm your but problem is you didn't follow proper system. first you should inform to your reporting person that this is we are getting from mrkt. and it'll not charge, also we'll get good candidates through there source specialist. if written communication was there then it wouldn't happens. and what your boss did that was his roles. he can hire or make deal with any person.
Boss always keep eye on employees. if you are not wrong then you don't need to worry about that. Supervision is his job and he'll do that.

What you have recounted, no doubt is very stressful; but something which almost every working person has encountered in his career.
It is difficult to make people, especially bosses, like you. Further more, it is almost impossible to bring the desired changes in a boss.
Very rarely, in one's whole career, one comes across one or two bosses who are near perfect or even good.
So the best thing is to accept this fact as a part of one's working life !!!
In fact, I would say that your boss is much better than the one that I had during my early days. He not only kept an eye on me during the day; he would also enquire about the details of what I talked with anyone; and would end these "enquiry" session with a suggestion or rather a remark, "don't entertain such people", or "WHY do you entertain such people"; as if it is MY FAULT if someone is coming over to talk with me. This is not the worst he would do, but rather the most harmless of his activities. You can imagine the kind of work-life I was having in those days !!!
But things change; assignments change; bosses change; and even the Companies change ... and thinks like that.
So have confidence and faith in yourself.
Don't focus on such extraneous irritants.
Keep LEARNING.
After sometime in future, you"ll be happy to realize that how much you have GROWN by just learning to overcome such barriers.

Mili has suggested to change the job. She may be right but my question is how many times. Do you think running away from a problem will solve it or what is the Guaranty that will you get a Peace of mind after that??????? Tell me how many places are free of politics or bossism.
When in Rome, behave like a Roman or as say in Hindi Ganga kinaarey Ganga Ram, Jamuna kinaarey Jamuna Lal. If you do not develop this attitude, it will be difficult for you to survive in a profession anywhere.
The idea is how you perceive something. You mentioned, your boss behaves very friendly at times, but I know people whose bosses are never friendly and they are always frowning at something or the other. Enjoy and carry this friendly conversation with you rather than the negative aspect. More over as you have mentioned that you do not entertain the idea of changing the job because you want to learn and gain experience in Core HR. Is that not a great enough idea to do every job even if it is clerical to gain more and what is more positive is that you are getting paid for learning. Well don’t we rather pay to learn most of the time? There are Hundreds of Positives, if you want to perceive, otherwise ONE NEGATIVE is enough to kill your career.
Stress is an important Aspect to grow. People who convert it into EUSTRESS (+VE STRESS), PERFORM & PEOPLE WHO BECOME PREY TO DYSTRESS ( NEGATIVE STRESS), PERISH.
Take your own call, where do you want to see yourself, few years later. If you find your answer as Successful, then stop looking around, concentrate only on your Target and achieve it. You will later realise that it was just a passing phase.
