Your attention is invited to ESIC Headquarters, Panchdeep Building, C.I.G. Marg, New Delhi Circular No.I-11/13/04/2020- ICT dated 29th June, 2020 (copy enclosed for ready reference).
The Department has issued detailed guidelines for registering a new employee under the ESI wherein the Corporation has made it compulsory to provide Mobile No. and Bank Account details with IFSC Code No. & MICR code No. while registering a new employee. By providing the above information, the Corporation will be in a better position to provide efficient and effective services to the Insured Person and the members of his/her family
As such, you are requested to kindly provide us the details of Mobile No., & Bank Account details (with IFSC & MICR Code No) of newly appointed employees invariably without fail in future. You are also requested to provide the information in respect of all the existing employees too so that we can upload the same to the ESI site as and when the Corporation asked for the same. It is further emphasized that henceforth no new employees can be registered under the ESI without Mobile No. and Bank Account details.
Also the employer needs to scan & upload attested cancelled cheque leaflet issued by Bank or the pages attested copy of (with stamp & signature of the Employer) front page of passbook showing the name of the Account Holder, Bank Name, Bank Branch and IFSC & MICR Code No.

I would like to supplement to above post that, the decision of ESI to register mobile nos and bank account of IPs, not only applies to new IPs, but also to the existing IPs as well.
