Dear Ms Singh,

What is your designation and in what way your work is connected with the CEO? Do the senior managers know that they are required to send a report?

If CEO wishes to obtain certain information from the senior managers, then fairness demands telling them to do so in the meeting. Later, for record purposes, the Minutes of Meeting (MoM) may be circulated so as to receive the reports on time.

Generally, emails are sent to the junior managers asking for certain information. If the email is sent to the senior managers, it could diminish their status. It would look too impersonal also. The person of the stature of the CEO generally is aware of this fact.

Lastly, one can understand if one asks for monthly or quarterly or half-yearly reports. However, what is the logic of asking for half-quarterly reports? Why the CEO is impetuous and is not ready to wait for the completion of the quarter also?

Thanks,
